Simply Made With Love *free give away*

Hi everyone, I have started a new facebook page called “Simply Made With Love” as soon as I get to 200 likes we will have a contest for a free give away. Its all things homemade.

I’m back!

I have been neglecting my blog. Tisk tisk tisk. But I have a good reason… I have been SUPER busy. With moving and Christmas and New Years. I’m tired just typing about it.

But, my little man and I have been doing a lot of fun things lately. So I’m going to post one of our recipies. (yes I stink at spelling) for everyone to enjoy.

For this recipe it will be homemade playdough. My little man had a blast with this. I had to find a recipie that didn’t call for cream of tarter though since we didn’t have any and I so did not want to go to the store. Tell you what it is NOT easy finding that recipe, but I found one. Of course I cant find it now.

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
2 tbsp of baking soda
1 cup of water
1 packet of koolaid of choice (optional)
1tbsp of oil

Mix all in a bowl with fork until smooth
Pour into pan
Medium heat
Stir till bunches up to form a ball
Allow to cool

The koolaid I dissolved in the cup of water first. We used green since that was his favorite color. So thats it, it’s really easy and actually pretty fast to do.

Word of caution… Its probably not a good idea to let your 3 yr old help unless your right there. As I was mixing up the koolaid my lil man decided to pour half a bottle of oil into the bowl. Sooooo, needless to say we had to clean up and start alll over. Lol. Have fun everyone!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!!

Today is an exciting day! Not only is it our first Christmas in our new house BUT its the first time I have cooked for a holiday. I must say I am VERY nervous for tonight!

We are pretty much all moved except I am missing stuff :/ (they gotta be somewhere….). I am loving my house and cant wait to start decorating!

This is a short post… I have so much to do! Hopefully after the holidays my posts will be more interesting! Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Monday!

Yes, I know… Most people hate Mondays. But, for me this Monday is exciting. On Wed we move into our own/new house! Can you tell I am a little excited?? 🙂 So needless to say this week is going to be BUSY.

My new favorite snack to eat after a long hard day of packing is a shake. I mix in a blender a few scoops of ice cream (whatever kind you want), some milk, and crushed up chocolate chip cookies. Yummy just writing this I want one. Hehe.

Now back to my list on where I want everything in our house to go…

12 days!!

OMG! In 12 days we will close on our home! The four of us living where we are living just isn’t working very well. It’s sad when my “craft area” is an itty bitty space on the floor. Just to let you know it is not easy sewing on the floor!

I have so much to get done but it’s just not happening. Between my crazy busy 3 yr old and my hungry all the time 4 month old its hard to do anything. Of course at night when they are sleeping would be great buuuuut the rooms I need to be in are the rooms they sleep in. Oye! Do you see my dilema?

Alllrighty…. Going on pinterest to get ideas for my rooms in the NEW house! Yipeee.

Can you tell I am a bit excited?

Couponing

So I have decided I want to try and start Couponing. I have NO idea what I am doing…. Not sure thats a good thing. I figure while I learn maybe we can all learn (well those who read my blog).

First off I am going to start collecting papers. Preferably Sunday papers. They have the most coupons in them. 🙂 I will keep track of everything and let you know how things go. Hopefully I will be of some help to someone….

This is a really short post. Sorry!

Personalize dishes

I am always seeing the pins on pinterest about personalizing dishes with Sharpies and baking them for 30 mins at 350. So, I decided to try it. Let me tell you it doesnt work. I could easily scratch of my writing.

While at Wal-mart I came across Elmers Painter markers. I got them and was going to see if they would work on the dishes.

Today I tried them on a plate, just one though. Wasn’t going to write on a bunch of dishes and it not work. Well guess what?! It worked great! Honestly, I didn’t think it would and I didn’t bother writing nice. Big mistake! It worked so well i cant even scratch off the writing!

Heres a picture…

Note: I tried hard to get the writing off and it wont come off.

I dont think I’m going to worry bout the writing. My 3 year old is going to color on them anyways. Like I said I didnt think it would actually work. ENJOY

Home made lip gloss

So, we have lost the little Card thingy (not sure the name) to our camera. Booo. My hubby gets this great idea, lets use your sd card in your phone! I still have not put it back in my phone since he last used the camera, so for now, no pics. 😦

I saw on Pinterest home made lip gloss made from vaseline and kool aid. It looked sooo easy to make! Let me tell you what! It is sooo NOT easy as every one claims.

1. Its really messy to make and hard to clean up.
2. Half the time it doesnt work (the kool aid one)
3. It is not easy to get it in the little containers.
4. Quite time consuming.

That being said, I was able to make four little containers. However, it was not the kool aid one. I must have done something wrong (not sure what) but the kool aid wouldnt dissolve. So I ended up with gritty, vaseline smelling lip gloss.

The lip gloss I did make was mint. I found some mint extract in the kitchen and added a little bit at a time into a bowl of vaseline until I got it how I liked. Its not the pretty pink color like the kool aid was suppose to be but its not that bad. It also works great and its so much cheaper. I made four little containers (got from any craft store or even dollar tree and goodwill) to use. My only mistake with the containers is get the screw on kind, not ones that the lid
pops on and off.

Next, I might try adding cocoa and mint.

Go ahead and experiment and have fun!

DIY wall hanging (Cheap)

Items needed (I found my supplies around my house)
image

I used a bored.
image

Fluff (as I call it)
image

And a hot glue gun. (pardon my mess)

I glued everything down how I wanted it. All I used was fabric…

And here is the finished product. Not sure how I’m going to hang it yet… Adding some diagonal pink stripes can make it into a picture/note holder. It could also be made to hold clips or any other ideas you may have.

Note: I know my grammer could use some work. But I’m not doing this to show how good I can write. (which I’m not the best at writing)
